KEITH: I am happy to present to you today JRL Fans, Peter Zaragoza Producer and Director of PZP Productions. Yes, the man who was Behind the Camera in the No.1 hit of the Summer this year The DaVinci Load [2006], is here with us. Tell me Peter, who did you first get into the Gay Adult Film Industry?
PETER: Well, it's been a long, strange journey. I majored in drama & film in college and I started out as a legit stage actor/writer/director. Then I began writing Gay erotica for STARbooks Press Anthologies and for magazines like "Honcho." I always loved Gay porn videos, especially those done by JD Cadinot and William Higgins, so I tried to break into the industry for many years without any luck. I wanted to publish my erotica on the web, so I taught myself HTML and began what is now BoysOnTheWeb.Com, with the help of Lisa Turner and my friends at Badpuppy.Com. Then director Rick Warner, from Surfside Studios, came into my life quite by accident. We bonded as only fat men can and I was soon his apprentice on a video called "Lauderdale Strip," which I wrote (un-credited) and played a wanna-be, obese stripper named Gabriel DuBois. I still use that name when I make a cameo in my videos. Rick and I parted ways due to personality conflicts and I decided to attempt directing again. I made some solo twink videos for my website, which I eventually sold through AMVC.Com. I made seven solo DVDs for BigCockSociety.Com, to be sold on their websites. That was Porn Film-School 101, and quite an education I got. Some days I shot six to seven solos in the span of eight hours! But I learned how to think on my feet and work fast. Then a beauteous angel named Sammy Case came into my life. Danny Boy Bigg's boyfriend of the moment showed me Sammy's My Space profile (or was it Friendster?). I saw a badly lit photo of a petite, pale kid with unkempt, dark hair and a shy smile. I remember uttering aloud, "Oh my God, the camera loves him!" I immediately became infatuated with Sammy and vowed to make him a star. That came to pass with the help of Bill Rivers from Badpuppy and Rudy from Allboy Magazine. Pretty soon Sammy was doing a big-budget movie for Colt, and my DVD "Sammy Case Superstar" was nominated for a GayVN Award, thanks to my first distributor, Freddie at Video 10. Unfortunately, Sammy became lost in a world of chemicals and I haven't seen him in long time. Video 10 has a policy against facial cum shots, my trademark; so I was lucky enough to find Sam Bacca and all the great folks at Marina Pacific.
KEITH: The Da Vinci Load..No. 1 hit for you and Marina Pacific Distribution this past summer. How was it to have the hottest Gay XXX Film in America for multiple weeks?
PETER: It was AMAZING!!! "Desperate Houseboys," though very successful, only made it to the bottom of the list. I couldn't believe it when "Da Vinci Load" debuted in the top ten. Then it just inched its way to number one and just stayed there for several weeks. That was the first one of my videos that Tropixxx Video, my neighborhood porn palace, actually carried and I was damn proud!
KEITH: This is your fourth Gay XXX Film that you have produced for commercial release. Do you see yourself continuing in the business for years to come?
PETER: Only if I can continue to make quirky, unconventional movies. I loathe mass-produced, cookie-cutter porn that is churned out like a sausage factory. You may hate my movies, but you have to admit they are unique. We are still a fledgling, Pro-Am video production company on a shoestring budget. I would love to make two to three high-concept movies a year over the next few years. I am also still active in local theatre and writing prose. I hope to film "Da Vinci Load 2: Revenge Of The Twink" in 2007.
KEITH: This time out, you are doing a spoof off of the 1960's Elizabeth Montgomery T.V. hit BeWitched. How did you come up with that concept?
PETER: "Bewitched’ was a cultural phenomenon in the Gay culture. I grew up watching the show and still watch it on TV Land to this day. There was something about those bigger than life outcasts that Gays identified with, from the Wicked Endora to the Flamboyant Uncle Arthur. Paul Lynde was really the first Gay character on television, when it comes right down to it. He had the balls to be himself in a time when it was more convenient to butch it up. All this created a true a Gay Cult Classic. Sure straight boys identified with Tony Nelson and his harem girl in “I Dream Of Jeanne,” but it was the Gay boys who identified with the witches, who had to stay in the closet and couldn’t be themselves around normal people on "Bewitched.”
KEITH: How many cuties are lined up in BeTwinked?
PETER: We have eight hot cuties in this one. (And when I say hot I mean hot, because the location we shot in was only partly air-conditioned; so some days it was 120 in the shade!) We were lucky enough to get hunky Brant Moore to play the tall, dark and handsome mortal. Newcomer Brandon Brooks from New Orleans plays the blond, twinkie witch with the twitch. The camera just loves Brandon! If he mellows out a little, he can be a major star in this industry. Jayden Holloway, the blond punk in the infamous "Da Vinci Load" hostel scene, is back as the boss, Barry Late. I adore Jayden and love working with him. Then there is Robert Long, the hottest Cuban this side of a 60's Desi Arnaz Jr. His scene as a wicked warlock who seduces the nosey neighbor boy on roller-skates, newcomer Vittorio Ricci, is MUY CALIENTE. Brandon’s real-life boyfriend, Constantine, plays a leather-clad Doctor Monterey Bay with a crack of his whip and a happy potion. Shane Stone is also in the movie. Last, but certainly not least, is the virgin Donovan Knight. I found this curious eighteen-year-old on My Space. After carefully examining his IDs to make sure he was legal, we gave him the role of Hottie Potter, Apprentice Witch. Donovan literally loses his virginity on film. But don't worry, we were gentle. Of course, Auntie Mame, the oldest drag queen in captivity, plays the mother-in-law from hell. Her performance is just delicious! So a lot of fresh, new faces in this one, and some old friends.
KEITH: Will you be making a cameo in BeTwinked? and if so, as who?
PETER: LOL! I really don't like to do the cameos; I just can't find anybody else to do them. And I work cheap! This time around I'm playing Uncle Alfred, a across between Paul Lynde and Rosie O'Donnell.
KEITH: Do you feel the pressure after the success of The DaVinci Load? Do you feel that you have to release a hit or everyone will think of you as just a One-Hit Wonder? Has that thought crossed your mind?
PETER: Yes! It crosses my mind a lot. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking about it. Let's be frank, "The Da Vinci Load" was a well-executed publicity stunt capitalizing on the name-recognition of the Tom Hanks movie released that same week. It was a marketing campaign a year in the making for me, where I went out of my way to strategize every little detail. We also got damn lucky! And it certainly didn't hurt that the movie was actually good. The critics loved it, and the word of mouth was great; which is one of the reasons that it is still selling long after the publicity machine shut down. With “BeTwinked we won't be able to get a free ride on the Da Vinci publicity train. So I’m working extra hard on this one. I also have a new partner in crime: the lovely and witty Chris Thais, Vice President of Marketing at Marina Pacific. Between these two old, loud queens we’ll make this movie another hit!
KEITH: Tell me some of the highlights of BeTwinked? What can your fans look forward to?
PETER: I think the office scene between Brant Moore and Jayden Holloway is very intense. They rip each other’s clothes off and Brant takes little Jayden atop his desk. The sex is raw and rough with panting and scolding sweat a-dripping from their sultry, hard bodies. It’s fucking primal! Other highlights include flying dildos, kinky sex on a kitchen counter, and the poolside sacrifice of a virgin in a smutty three-way. But it’s really a sensitive love story about prejudice and acceptance…Really, it is.

PETER: There are two trailers really. There is the soft-core teaser that has been online for weeks. There is also the ALL NEW two-minute, HARDCORE trailer that will go online on Monday, September 25th. Even if you don't care for plot-driven, campy porn, this movie is choke-full of so much hardcore sex that you will not be disappointed. Even if you don't like twinks, this movie has a great mix of twinks and manly hunks, just like “The Da Vinci Load.” Now if you like twinks, campy porn and heavy ass eating, then you will have multiple orgasms in-between hearty laughs.
