Mobile operator Vodafone has stated that its 360 mobile app store will soon support adult applications. Most of today's app stores don't allow adult content although Google seems a lot more lax about it than Apple or Microsoft, but Vodafone's JIL based app store will allow these types of applications to be hosted on the store.

Presumably for download in private rather than on the bus. We will be watching to see if Vodafone will tap into both the Gay adult marketplace as well as the heterosexuals.

Vodafone will tap its existing age verification system, which is uses to monitor things like mobile browsing, to make sure that the user is allowed to access the content depending on which region they are in.

Apple recently came under fire after purging its App Store of thousands of apps it considered too breach its terms and conditions regarding adult themes.

However the selection process struck some as a little flawed, with some well known adult brands not being affected but, for instance, the app for a small swimwear maker being removed from the store, although it was later reinstated. This shows that more work still needs to be done so that studios can market their brands with this new application.
