This came into the JRL headquarters yesterday JRL fans. Yet another lawsuit has emerged in the Gay Adult Film Industry of 2010.

Bear Omnimedia LLC has filed suit against French Connection Distribution's bear label Pantheon Productions LLC, for trademark infringement in the US District Court for the District of Nevada (No. 2:10-cv-00504).

Bear Omnimedia filed this lawsuit to get a permanent injunction and damages arising from Pantheon's use of its registered BEAR® trademarks.

The suit alleges that Pantheon's use of registered BEAR® trademarks on its DVD's intended to cause confusion, mistake and deception of the public as to the identity and origin of authentic BEAR® goods and services.

The suit also seeks compensation for violation of the trademark Anti-Dilution Act and for unfair competition. The only named defendant at this time is Pantheon, but the company has reserved the right to add other parties who participate in or act in concert with the infringement.

Bear Omnimedia's Butch Bear label has good reason to be protective of their brand especially when they have an upcoming release entitled The Big One [2010]. Gay porn labels have complained for years how their brands are copied and used to push product that doesn't come close their own quality of gay adult entertainment.

Bear Omnimedia LLC produces products and videos that embody the ideals of iconic hyper-masculinity, which reflect the aspirations and interests of primal gay and bisexual men and their admirers.

In 2006 it obtained the trademark BEAR® for its video and print products and services.
