AFTON NILLS BRINGS ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, A NEW HIT SERIES TO AMERICA THIS SUMMER

Retailers and JRL fans worldwide, this is an exciting day because famed director Afton Nills and his production team have put together a brand new smash hit series entitled "Once in a Blue Moon" [2008]. Once in a Blue Moon is a new episodic series about four young men working together at a local gay resort. The series evolves around, Jeremy (played by Trevin Nills), who works as the pool boy, Tad (played by Nevin Scott), who works the front desk, Robert (played by Quinn Alexander), who works as the supervisor, and Oscar, (played by Kameron Scott), who works as the bellman/room service/laundry boy.The cast also stars Eddie Carlson, (played by Dillon Samuels), who visits the resort frequently as a guest.
The first season will consist of six episodes which will lead you through the lives of these young men and the lives of those who happen to pass through the resort.

Episode one introduces the main characters with a tiny cliff hanger. What’s Eddie’s planning? What’s Oscar’s secret? Who will Robert ‘break in’ next?
“I wanted to film something that would be fun for the cast and crew. I was introduced to a talented young writer who was able to turn my vision into something worth shooting. I told him I wanted something with a little drama, strong characters, with cliff hangers at the end of each episode. Something real, that would fit the age range of our actors.
I think the first episode came off pretty good and am looking forward to number two! While the actors may not be Hollywood actors, they all worked very hard and deserve a pat on the back for their effort. Acting is not at all easy.
Especially guys who find themselves in porn. We must have filmed 10 to 25 takes during the dialog. I don’t think what we did here was cheesy, or typical porn. It has a good story line mixed with a little drama and hot safe sex.
The characters match the actor’s age, so no 18 year old Doctors here. “ says Creator/Director Afton Nills.“Once in a Blue Moon is something I’ve been wanting to do since I began, and I’m glad I decided to move forward with it.
I think each episode will be better than the next and feel this will be a big success for us and the actors. Gonzo films are great, but I got in this industry to do something different, and I think I’m finally making a start here with this series.”
Something new you’ll see on the DVD boxart/disk art and inside the DVD is my campaign for safe sex. I’ll be launching a website later this year, www.safesexisbest.com, a blog about safe sex in this industry, how we practice it, and encourage it. I’ve heard some negative comments come across over the last year from other Producers/Directors/Agents who claim that I only shoot bareback films. This is very far from the truth and have consistently shot safe sex films for years.

While I have filmed bareback films in the past when I first began in this industry, mostly with real life couples, I no longer film them. I feel it’s important for us to set a good example to our viewers. While most may prefer to watch bareback, and would sell twice as many DVD’s if we shot bareback, I do not want to put anyone at risk on my set.

I won’t risk their lives to turn more profit. Not only are the actors tested prior to work, I have also implemented a program which helps educate the actor about the dangers of unsafe practices. I was very surprised at how many young guys were unaware of the risks involved. Most were taught abstinence with no education about safe sex. We are a family on and off the set and their safety is my number one priority.
