Adult Boutique retail chain owners of Naughty But Nice in Brisbane have stated publicy their support of a State Government plan to review industry regulations that could impose restrictions on future stores locations may be based in the county.
Planning Minister and Acting Premier Paul Lucas stated publicy that 'the Department of Infrastructure and Planning will conduct a review of the regulations in conjunction with the Office of Fair Trading."

The ironic thing however is, the review will not introduce and pass legislation in time to prevent the opening of an adult boutique that is scheduled to be placed opposite a Catholic primary school in northern Queensland. David Simonsen, owner of the mega Naughty But Nice Adult Boutique Store chain in Mt Gravatt said, stated publicy that new regulations are definitely needed.
Simonsen continued..."I might be the owner of one (adult shop), but there's still a place for them ... and there are places that are not for them, I am a father of three and I certainly wouldn't want my kids going to school and continually seeing an adult shop across the road." The Naughty But Nice store located in Annerley spoke to the brisbanetimes.com.au on condition of anonymity, agreed there should be "proper" regulations.

Naughty but nice - Keeping couples together.
"From time to time it is a common occurrence for many couples to suffer from what I term as "out of sync" with their love lives. This can be due to many varying factors, like, low libido, child birth, age, medical conditions, low self esteem or even a general insecurity about your own sexuality. These a just a few of the many problems that occur in a modern relationship and marriages. This out of sync love life can, if left untreated, can cause many problems, arguments or even a break up with your partner. The real fact is that with a little knowledge, the right products and a commitment to improve, couples can very easily bring back the harmony in the bedroom and also into the relationship.

The legislative process could take up to six months, which would be far to late to hault an adult store from opening across the street from St Catherine's School in Proserpine.
Whitsunday Regional Council is by all accounts powerless to attempt to stop the store from opening or have it relocated. The reason being is that Queensland laws treat the placement of adult businesses just like any other retailer in the county. Eros Association executive officer Fiona Patten said not only were adult stores unregulated in the state, but the sale of XXX-rated videos and DVDs was technically illegal.
"The review could finally bring Queensland regulations in line with other states", Lucas stated to reporters. He continued...."I don't think it is unreasonable at all to say why does New South Wales have a prohibition on adult shops within 200 metres of a school and Queensland not."
Lucas is pointing the failed planning of the town hall meeting towards the Whitsunday Shire Council, which has been replaced by the Whitsunday Regional Council after amalgamation. Lucas also stated that "the former council wasn't really at "best practice" when it can to town planning and could have taken further action to stop the sex shop from opening.".
