JAMIE HENDRIX TALKS TO ANDY POWELL ON HIS UPCOMING QNATION APRIL 14

Jamie Hendrix to appear LIVE On Air! This will be Jamie's second On Air Live appearance and this time it will be on April 14th at 10PM (Eastern Standard Time) On "The Edge Radio Show" on QNation.FM.

The interview will be around 20 minutes long and cover the span of Jamie's career both as a Gay XXX performer and director and also his mainstream crossover as a filmmaker.

Tune in and check it out. "This could not have been better timing" says Hendrix. He is set to shoot a blockbuster Gay Soft core film June 2010.

Jamie Hendrix was nominated for 2 GAYVN awards in 2009 for his Gay XXX film Friendly Force and soft core film Curious and has been in the forefront of the Gay XXX Industry since 1988.

I had a chance to chat with Jamie on his new adventures and this is what he told me exclusively on JRL.

Andy Powell: You are busy doing both hardcore and soft core gay productions. How do you balance two genres at the same time?

Jamie Hendrix: Well, nowadays, it's easy because the amount of Hardcore for me at least has gone to a number zero since my GAYVN Nominated "Friendly Force". No company seems to to work with me or has asked me to produce or direct any quality films for them, a bit of a waste I think, not like the old days with HIS/VCA where the budgets were 20K,25K and upwards 100K per shoot.

I was planning a pay site but now there's a zillion of them and it's too late .....story of my life. *That said, I have had a chance to learn and grow. I respect the adult industry and appreciate every moment I have had in it because it helped me to learn how to shoot films and how to deal with cast and crew.

I have honed in and reinvented myself adding to my level of expertise and current training of editing, cameras and shooting techniques. I have learned allot from adult and most currently soft core and mainstream film making. Now, back to the answer, nowadays I am mainly filming either high end cinematic soft core, like the upcoming shoot in June 2010 and/or mainstream films like the one coming up in August. I have 2 on the roster.

Andy Powell: Are you looking to penetrate the gay market again or, are you more concentrated on gay mainstream productions?

Jamie Hendrix: Well, nowadays,more mainstream. The mainstream Gay film market is hot right now and even soft core. My films are all doing well out there in every mainstream store chain there is and after seeing the adult market plummet, makes me nervous investing too much into it anymore, maybe one day again, soon If the right opportunity arises.

I hope cause I have tons of old and NEW fans like in their 20's even that love my porn films.

Andy Powell: If you are going to be coming back to the gay porn marketplace, will your films also have a soft core version for retailers who will want to carry both your hardcore productions as well as your soft core ones?

Jamie Hendrix: If I get the chance to do another high budget release, YES there will actually be 2 soft core version. One hard/soft that shows erections and ass and simulation and another for Chain Stores etc that has the story but no actual sex or genital shots.

Andy Powell: What are your feelings on today's gay adult marketplace vs. the gay mainstream market?

Jamie Hendrix: Well, nowadays, the Gay XXX sales are not worth talking about compared to mainstream units. What do I mean? In adult most companies even larger ones want scenes...not movies, like loops or web content that's slammed onto DVD how many units are they selling 300, 500 may 6 or 700 tops that includes USA and the world including PPV, VOD, rentals etc.

Mainstream now that is different animal. I can sell 5,000 10,000 units easy of any of my films and with very little invest make profit but it's not been easy to get in or stay in. In mainstream Features and or Soft core you have to keep going and you literally are only as good as your LAST film and hopefully it was not 5 or 10 years ago. Fortunately I am current and I keep going. Thank goodness!

Andy Powell: Will you have any surprises on your upcoming QNation interview that is taking place on April 14th, 2010?
