THE 10TH ANNUAL GAYVN AWARDS ENDS WITH A SMASH HIT FOR THE RECORD BOOKS

Industry leaders, the hottest stars in the business, the elite powerhouses in the business as well as fans of the Gay Adult Film Industry, were all under one roof this past Saturday (February 17, 2008) at the 10th Annual GayVN Awards show.
Kicking off the show with a (in my opinion) Award Nominated performance for Best Lipsinc, was Lady Bunny. She had everyone on their feet with her performance and I truly hope to catch her act again real soon. GayVN also tapped the sensational duo of the Derek & Romaine Show which you can always listen to on SIRIUS OutQ109, to host this year's event.
The Awards were without a doubt a A-Class Hit. The GayVN Hall of Fame inducted seven (7) new legends to its elite club. Paul Barresi, Rod Barry, Terry LeGrand, Lucas Kazan, David McCabe and Tiger Tyson. For the first time in history, Tiger Tyson is also the first African-American/Puerto Rican to be inducted into the GayVN Hall of Fame. Plus,
Tiger Tyson hit the stage once again to win Best Ethnic Video performance in Tiger's Eiffel Tower [2007]. Truly a great night for Pitbull Productions and Marina Pacific.
Chris Ward, Founder of Raging Stallion Studios has a great night as well with wins for his No.1 hit on the JRL Weekly Top 100 in America Grunts [2007]. Ward walked away with Best Still Photographer (Kent Taylor and Geof Teague) for Grunts, Best Editing (Chris Ward/Bel Leon) (Grunts), Best DVD Extras/Special Edition (Grunts). Plus, Chris Ward took it all the way to the end by winning Best Picture (Grunts).
Mega online and land-based retailer TLA Releasing won for Best Alternative Release for Naked Boys Singing while Best Specialt Release (Extreme) went to Fear [2007] to Titan Media/Io Group.
I had to mention Chi Chi LaRue and Channel 1 Releasing had a great night as well with wins that included "Best Overall Marketing Campaign: Link: The Evolution", "Best Specialty Release -Bear" (When Bears Attack),and "Link: The Evolution (Link) and for "Best Group Scene" which awards Johnny Hazzard, Joe Strong, Matt Majors, and Brendan Davies.
Michael Lucas captured the Best Renting Title of 2007 according to GayVN Top 100 and Bel Ami Entertainment captured Best Specialty Release for 18-23 Rebel [2007].
The night was filled with positive vibes throughout the hall and fans to vendors to stars were able to meet for the first time and interact in a way that isn't normally seen in the Gay Adult Industry.

GayVN truly gave a great show and JRL truly has to give them a 110% Prop for doing this for our industry. They also picked a true landmark of San Francisco by booking the awards show the famous Giftcenter located in the industrial zone area of the market district, the Giftcenter, after renovation and re-opening in 1983, the Giftcenter's five-story atrium has offered event coordinators multiple levels for seating, interactive games, photography or food and beverage stations. Each level is serviced by both a grand staircase and two glass elevators, which allow guests a spectacular view of the excitement below. The terrazzo dance floor stretches across the atrium, bordered by a multi-tiered, finished hardwood stage. Above this stage hangs the canopy, housing a stateof- the-art lighting and sound system which, in keeping with it's history, makes the Giftcenter the most versatile event venue in the San Francisco Bay Area.
