Ray Alustiza, General Manager of the Drakes Erotica Emporium corporation, told JRL of their fantastic gift to the Woman's Care Cottage which is based in North Hollywood, CA.
Drakes Erotica Emporium which is based at 7566 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046, is the Lead store in this Toy Drive for Christmas.
The event kicks off this week at the Drakes Melrose location. "The holidays are a difficult time for many people who are without homes. We would like to help the children who get caught in the middle of these unfortunate times have a happy holiday." Ray told JRL. "The WCC is a 90-day emergency shelter for homeless families. Women’s Care Cottage minimizes the detrimental effects of homelessness by providing women and their families with immediate relief from the streets at The Cottage, a 90-day emergency shelter."
Housed in a spacious two-story Tudor house with five bedrooms and five baths. The Cottage is a real home for families in transition. Since its inception in 1991, The Cottage has served over 800 women and children
in Los Angeles.
The Cottage is more than a temporary housing solution—it is a critical first step toward self-sufficiency. During their stay, clients benefit from extensive supportive services, including case management and physical and mental health services.
"Those who are unemployed participate in @Work, an intensive career development and job placement program.
Clients also take life skills classes on subjects such as budgeting and finance management, cooking and nutrition, and public benefit entitlements.” Mandi Moss of Drake's Corporate told JRL.
