Vacavelle, California's City Council is putting the foot down on adult business merchants.

By unanimous vote last Tuesday March 9th, 2010, in the late hours, has voted to prohibit adult businesses from coming within 750 feet of residential areas, parks and churches.

"Porn is here to stay and we're not just gonna get rid of porn. But it's not appropriate in Vacaville," stated Retired Vacaville Police Chief Gary Tatum. For years Chief Tatum has stated that he has seen certain types of businesses breed crime. "So I think that's something we wanna keep out of Vacaville," he said.

Tatum continued.."I don't know if I'd necessarily want 10 of these stores," Vacaville resident Angela Koizumi said. "But the option of having at least one or two in town doesn't bother me."

"There is no one else like us in vacaville," said Nicole Phelps of Naughty or Nice. Adult businesses have been very prosperous for more than five years - right in the middle of downtown Vacaville.

"I think that this is something that is really part of the community, and we should be able to have our business wherever we like," Phelps said.

"They bring traffic to downtown. They bring a lot of people to downtown. And it's a good thing. Good for our economy...," said Ryan Bates.

His photography studio is right next door. There are lots of mothers and fathers who shop in these stores, teens and even couples.

Plus there's also is another business that is no stranger to the Adult film Industry, Secrets, which opened its doors two years ago. City leaders do admit neither business has brought trouble to the town of Vacavelle.
