AFTER SIX MONTHS CLOSED..CHOSEN BOOKS OF MICHIGAN REOPENS IN NEW ZONE

After serving our community for over 14 years in Royal Oaks, MI, store owner Joe Karsinski has reopened his doors in a suburb of Detroit, MI. Adult bookstore Chosen Books of Michigan has reopened in this suburb of Detroit after closing its doors in Royal Oak, a nearby community, due to high rent six months ago. To comply with Ferndale's laws, the store is only able to feature adult material (gay and straight) in 20% of its space.
The rest will be filled up with cards, gifts, and mainstream books and magazines. It is a requirment that Chosen Books comply's with Ferndale County's zoning laws which means it can only have 20% of gay and straight xxx materials in their store. The vast majority of space Chosen Books must utilize is set for personal gifts, love cards, and general books and magazines that won't get anyone's hair in a tizzy!
Everyone in Ferndale wasn't happy when they heard that an adult bookstore had moved into the neighborhood but City Councilman Mike Lennon stated back in January of 2007, "I'm not too happy about XXX Entertainment being here but, we don't think that ther'e's anything we can do about it. At least not at this time. Furthermore he states that he will keep a close eye on the famous Chosen Books to make sure that they stay incompliance.
It's nice to have Chosen Books back open because they have served the Gay and Lesbian Community in Michigan for years and Joe, although in his late 70's, is as strong as ever and is determined to provide an outlet for gays and lesbians in the Ferndale Community and surrounding counties.
