CHI CHI LARUE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE FOR SAFE SEX AND DEBUTS PSA

Channel 1 Releasing is proud to announce that it has released a new safe sex Public Service Announce-ment (PSA) video starring legendary porn director Chi Chi LaRue on its new website www.SafeSexIsHotSex.com.
The controversial four-minute PSA is in direct response to the current multitude of bare backing movies being produced and sold worldwide.

It addresses the difference between creating a fantasy world for consumers to enjoy and the reality of creating a safe environment for models to perform in. As well as the possible negative message films of this nature convey to the gay community - especially young men 15 to 24 years of age whose rate of HIV/AIDS infection is currently growing at an alarming pace.
The new safe sex website www.SafeSexIsHotSex.com, which Channel 1 Releasing launched yesterday, not only features the new PSA, but also includes an open letter from legendary director and Channel 1 Releasing partner Chi Chi LaRue with his stance on the barebacking vs. safe sex in gay porn issue; as well as his promise to NEVER shoot a barebacking movie.
The site also includes links that contain important statistical information, used in the PSA, from the Center For Disease Control (CDC), APLA, AMFAR, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, AIDS Map News (NAM), LAMA and The New York Times. Visitors to SafeSexIsHotSex.com are encouraged to get more information on HIV/AIDS and the importance of practicing safer sex from these particular websites.
“I am certainly NOT saying that barebacking movies are solely responsible for the huge increase in HIV infections,” says LaRue,“I think a lot of factors are at play.I think drug companies want us to think that HIV is just a simple and manageable condition.They never mention that a 1-year supply of medication starts at $25,000! I think the lack of real sex education, thanks to our current conservative regime, is a factor. Let’s not forget the rampant drug abuse in the gay community, which is definitely a factor. I also think gay men are really just tired of talking and hearing about it! But we can’t stop talking about it…I think what we are seeing is a result of too many people being way too silent!”
LaRue adds, “This PSA was important for me, personally, to make because of the issue of model safety on porn sets, as well as to inform consumers that the gorgeous models that they see in their favorite video are real people and that the danger that they are exposing themselves to in making barebacking films is REAL.There’s no arguing that having anal sex without a condom puts you at great risk of contracting the HIV virus, as well as a multitude of other sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s), so why is it ok for models to do it on screen to please someone’s fantasy? My point is that there’s a difference between reality and fantasy. And this fantasy is effecting the real world!"
