D.C. JUDGE THROWS OUT OPPONENTS OF GAY MARRIAGE LAWSUIT

It's nice to finally report on a common sense judge's actions for gay rights in America!D.C. Superior Court Judge Judith N. Macaluso ruled last Thursday in favor of the city stating that a lawsuit that was brought before her by opponents of gay marriage were a violation of Washington D.C.'s Human Rights Act.

Plaintiff's led by a Maryland pastor Bishop Harry Jackson (Pictured Right) sued the city after the Board of Elections and Ethics had refused to put their initiative on the ballot. The measure would have promoted the "marriage is between a man and a woman only". The board ruled just the same as Judge Macaluso, that the request was a violation of the city's Human Rights Act.
While it is a proud time for gays and lesbians in Washington D.C., don't forget that the District of Columbia passed a bill last December that would allow sam-sex couples to marry but the city is a federal district.
Meaning, the law is pending final approval by the Congress. Hopefully the Congress will respect gays and lesbians and pass this bill without hesitation.
