NATIONWIDE RETAILER GETS REVOKED FOR MOVIE PREVIEW THEATERS AT RETAIL LOCATIONS IN RHODE ISLAND LOCATIONS

Amazing.net which is located at 486 Bridge Street in Springfield, can stay open to sell books, magazines, videos and sex toys, but its 16 movie-viewing booths must be closed,
Assistant City Solicitor Michael E. Mulcahy told JRL.
Police and building code inspectors will have the job of enforcing the closure of the movie preview booths in the store at the Apremont Triangle, he said.
As will other media outlets, JRL has been attempting to reach the Parent Company of Amazing.net, Captial Video Corp., for comment and hasn't received any feedback as of the time of this posting.
Capital Video Corp. may apply for an entertainment license for 2008, City Solicitor Edward M. Pikula said. Entertainment licenses run from January 1 to December 31st, 2007.
Ryan's 13-page ruling was dated Friday. It came more than a year after an Oct. 11, 2006, inspection by the city Health and Human Services Department found
"deplorable conditions within the booths," said a press release that accompanied
the mayor's official ruling.
The initial health inspection was followed up by several police investigations, including undercover officers doing a surveilance check, and a recommendation from Police Capt. Kevin M. Dudley that the city revoke the store's entertainment license to close the booths all together.
Police and city health inspectors found problems that included a "dirty video booths", glory-holes in walls between booths, inappropriate contact between individuals in the movie preview booths and various health-code violations, Mayor Charles V. Ryan's ruling said.
