JEFF LIVINGSTON INTERVIEWS FAMED DIRECTOR THOMAS BJORN EXCLUSIVELY ON JRL

Jeff: Hello JRL fans, and welcome to another exciting treat JRL has in store for you.

This special guest has produced over 49 gay adult films for over a decade. Such hits as Bare Brazilian Games [2006], former Top 10 hit on the JRL Weekly Top 100 Bareback Journey to Amsterdam [2005], the runaway hit of 2006 Bareback Mountain [2006] and the spectacular unforgettable gay xxx feature of 2004 Puppy's Bareback Playroom [2004].

Yes JRL fans, I bring you Producer and Director Thomas Bjorn, CEO and President of Puppy Productions, Inc. Thanks for hanging out with us on JRL today Thomas.

Thomas: Thank you it's a pleasure to be here.

Jeff: Over 55 features, you've been busy over the past decade. How did you get your start in the Gay Adult Film Business?

Thomas: I was doing live shows with my bf and a friend gave me a program to edit material from one of my shows. A friend of a friend got a peek at it and said you need to not only do movies but you would make a great editor.

Jeff: Did you find resistance when you first broke into the business?

Thomas: Yes the first 6 months was interesting, we didn't sell a single movie and they were priced at $39.95. We went to Palm Springs to meet up with HDK and Bill said to me don't undersell your product. I went home and adjusted the price on the website to $59.95, they started selling that night.

Jeff: Once you became established and retailers recognized your name when their distributors would call them on New Releases. How did it feel at first, when stores were actually picking up your product on a regular basis?

Thomas: I was pretty blown away and excited but realized you are only as good as your last release.

Jeff: What would you consider Puppy Productions to be? A Full-On Amateur studio or Pro-Am or straight up Professional [Top Budget Quality] type films?

Thomas: LOL I consider myself the King of low budget movies. But I would say we're more Pro-Am.

Jeff: One thing that we have read from the thousands of emails JRL receives daily is, they find that some features that spend tons of money to produce are sometimes not as hot as the ones that are filmed with a limited budget. What makes your films stand out from the Big players in the biz?

Thomas: I really try and focus on fantasies, if you look at most of my releases you'll see that, rape, lovers, sports and so on. They don't all go together, I try to cover the range of fantasies. Also I think I choose not to use pretty boys, I like average Joes.

Jeff: Your films are bareback....How are you dealing with the politics of this subject in the industry these days?

Thomas: It used to bother me when you have a major studio that speaks out about the bareback issue, yet they make alot of money off re-releasing pre-condom movies, quite frankly I don't see the difference. I don't put it out there as much anymore, I've always said, as long as the models are making an informed descision and both parties are consenting then I don't have a problem with it at all.

Thomas continues... We have a PSA before every movie, I feel so strong about it that it hasn't changed since we first put it out. I choose to educate my models, I believe you can have safe bareback sex, if you look at the studies there are 2 factors that come up everytime, multiple sex partners(20+) and DRUGS. I'm do not allow drugs on my set and if I think your on them, you're gone!

Jeff: How do you feel about condom features vs. bareback?

Thomas: There really isn't a difference, you've got companies both bareback and condom companies that release movies just to release them then you have companies that release movies with substance, one of my favorite condom companies is Dark Alley, Matthias Von Fistenberg is brilliant. It's funny I don't watch alot of gay movies mostly straight but his movies get me going. What's wrong with looking at the artistry of these movies? I go back to educating models and not PREACHIING. Next question I can go on for days with this topic..LOL

Jeff: Do you believe that it is the responsibility of the producer to make sure that models are tested prior to performing or do you have other opinions on this issue?

Thomas: I can't speak for anybody else but for myself, I do. I'm more concerned about STD's than HIV they're easier to catch. But again it goes back to educating, I can't tell you how many models I've taken in for their first HIV or STD test, it's mind blowing. We didn't start out doing bareback movies our first movie was all friends so we knew each other but our second film we had condoms in it and HDK asked us to edit it out because it would sell better, I was ok with doing that. My choice for doing bareback is because it so natural and beautiful. But at the same time there comes responsibilities with it.

Jeff: Well speaking on bareback, tell us about your New Summer Release entitled Bareback Auditions 5 [2008]. Where did you get the ideal to make a fifth installment of this popular series?

Thomas: It was time for me to get back in front of the camera and the emails were piling up for request for #5. It was getting rediculous, the phone would ring and a customer would be on the other line, "So when is BBA5 going to be released?" I love the auditions series, it gives me and the audience a chance to see the models relaxed. It's just the models, me and the cameras, no one to make them feel uncomfortable and they can be the slut they always wanted to be...LOL

Jeff: How are the hunks that star in Bareback Auditions 5 [2008]?

Thomas: There are some awesome guys in the release, All I can say is never judge a book by it's cover, saying that Romero Rivera rocked my cock both in his mouth and ass. Then you have Jason Reed before he was a star at SX. I loved Antonio Garcia, the twink he is but all tattoo'd out with his hot ass. All in All 7 scenes with 10 guys...

Jeff: Fill us in on some of the behind the scenes activities that went on while filming Bareback Auditions 5 and, what kind of surprises can Puppy fans expect from Bareback Auditions 5 [2008]?

Thomas: It's been awhile since I've been in front of the camera, so I found myself alittle shy, I know! LOL I found myself interacting with the camera more than I did in the past. I didn't know what to expect, since I'm no spring chicken anymore but the models were all over it. I get a little more nastier in this release than the past Auditions. And of course lots more vocal going on between me and the models during the scenes which gets really dirty.

Jeff: You've made a major step as far as taking the reigns of self distribution. You are joining an elite team of producers who are branching out from the norm' and are self distributing directly to retailers. Do you see this continuing from now on as more and more studios are making the necessary contacts with retailers at the various conventions that are held throughout the year?

Thomas: We started out doing that then I got this crazy idea to have a distributor take over our line. Well nobody cares more about your line then yourself. Plus we get direct feedback not distorted information. I also like passing more of the profit on to the stores. We did very well when we were doing our own distribution in the past and I believe we will continue the same in the future.

Thomas: Well first of Thanks to all of my supporters that took this country boy from Nebraska into their fantasy worlds and I promise that there will be a Forced Entry Club 4 SOON!
