Paul: JRL fans, give it up to the director who brought you the Award Winning Series Twink Swallows 1-4 [2004], Breeding Time [2007], former No.1 hit on the JRL Weekly Top 100 Do Me Raw [2007], former No.1 hit Bareback Boys Club Orgy [2007] and the latest mega hit in America on the JRL Weekly Top 100 at No. 17,Seeding Farmers [2008]. JRL fans, please welcome to JRL the one and only Michael Paris of Eboys Studio Entertainment Group. Michael thank you for sitting in with us on JRL.
Michael: Thank you Paul for having me here. It’s always a pleasure to talk to you.
Paul: JRL Fans worldwide are major fans of both the Eboys brand and the Raw Entry Club label. What's your secret for busting out with hit after hit in gay xxx twink genre?
Michael: Well, this is a tough question. First of all, I love what I’m doing for a living and I especially love working with Twinks. I like the atmosphere and the fun they bring on the set. When I direct a movie, I know what I want to see on screen as a viewer point of view. I follow my instincts and make sure the models enjoy this special day. I talk a lot with them prior the shoot. I need to know what they are in to, and especially what they dislike because I will never force a model to do something against his wish.
It’s all about mutual respect and confidence. I do not want to see acting; all I’m looking for is fun, hot sex and passion through the lenses. By knowing what turn them on, it makes my job much easier. One of my rules is to give lots of freedom to the models. Often, I let them improvise and the cameras just follow. This is a great way to have something natural and not scripted. The rhythm in the movie is very important to me and I often break the “rules”. I always surprise the models in the middle of the action. I have no problems to tell a boy:” I want a cumshot” after 10 minutes of shooting. They usually cannot believe it and think I’m CRAZY because almost no directors do that.
A scene has to be entertaining and should look real. I do not want the viewers to fast forward to first 5 minutes. I crave to see a dick after less than a minute. All I want is to surprise the viewer by making something different; and you know what?
It works! The other good side of it is that the models keep asking to work with me again and again.

Paul: Tell us about the cast in Seeding Farmers [2008]? Michael: I’m not really into outdoor shoot. Of course, it looks great on screen but I always have the feeling I’m missing the intimacy with the
models because of the technical problems we have to deal with. With “Seeding Farmers”,
I wanted to produce something different and I wanted boys with more muscular bodies. “Seeding Farmers” is one of those movies where everything goes just great.

No drama, no technical problems and perfect models willing to work and perform without weird requests or complain. This cast was one of the best I worked with. Jose Manuel, Rendy Scott and David Loft are amazing guys.
They are horny by nature and full of ideas. We spent 5 days together and they all connected really well. I gave each model the opportunity to select the boy for his scene.
That was a great idea because they had amazing sex. All the boys were turned on during the scenes and gave more than I expected.
Paul: I have a letter here from a fan in Cleveland, Ohio who wrote...by the way let me plub him, Steve Williams....Steve wants to know, why is it so hard for guys to cum when screwing bareback?
Michael: Well, I don’t know about Steve or the boys in Ohio LOL? The vast majority of my models have no problems cumming when fucking bareback. It’s even easier for them! I would say it’s the other way around. I guess all depends if you are a real barebacker or not. My boys will have bigger problems to cum if they had condoms… That’s for sure!
Paul: Okay..here another one from Billy in San Francisco, CA, and he asks...."Is it hard to get signed up with Eboys Entertainment? and how do I go about auditioning for Eboys or Raw Entry Club?
Michael: There is nothing easier. Some boys apply online… If they have the look I need, I book them for a casting few weeks before the shoot. Others come from agents I work with; but I’m known to be very picky during the casting. The look is very important but not the #1feature for me.
What I want is a good feeling with the model. Usually it takes me 1 minute to feel the guys. If they are gorgeous but have some attitude, I will turn them down and go for the cool boy next to him; and this happens often. I cannot work with someone acting like a star and having too many requests.
The way I cast is “I think” the best approach to prepare the fun we all need when we shoot… I want to avoid any stress possible because before all, shooting a movie should be fun and not work!
Paul: Is it difficult to cast for your features Michael?
Michael: Not really. Since I know what I want, the most part of the casting consists in talking with the boys. When I’m not sure about a model, I send
him for a “jackoff” in a room with my co-director Saint Cyre. After watching the model on screen, we both can see if the model looks good and how comfortable he’s is in front of the camera.
Paul: I'm sure you've heard about the latest issues concerning bareback feature films. Can you give us your opinion on this issue coming from the bareback side of this issue?
Michael: Personally, I do not see any issues there. As long as you REALLY care for the model’s health, you do everything to work in the safest environment possible. All the boys are tested by professionals in a Clinique 24 hours prior the shoot. They all have to come with a HIV test showing they are negative. Of course, there is always a very, very small risk. There is nothing we can do against that! 95% of my models have bareback sex in their private life. This is a choice they made and I’m totally ok with it as long as they know the status of their partners.
Talking about risks…Eating Fast Food on a daily basis is dangerous… driving under the influence is dangerous… crossing the street might be dangerous…smocking or drinking too much alcohol is dangerous… having a gun at home could be dangerous… unless you live in a “bubble” you have some risks in your life.
Having bareback sex on my set has very limited risks. I would say “almost” none. I’ve been working with the same models for 3 or 4 years. I’ve never seen anyone that became HIV+ and they made more than 50 scenes or more with other Studios during that time. I know that in Prague,
the vast majority of production companies and directors are real professionals and don’t play with the health of the models.
If I'm a little long winded on this issue forgive me but I feel that it's important for me to say..."What makes me really worried today is how many Gays act in their private & sexual life.
Mixing sex with drugs like GHB, Extasy etc is very common today. How can you make the right decision when you are high? This is crazy and much more dangerous than bareback sex produced by
professionals.
Whatever we can say about bareback in the Adult Business, you will always find people who think we are criminals. But you know what? Some “clean” Studios yelling at us are shooting ejaculations in mouth… others book boyfriends so they can finally have bareback sex for their member’s online… Some Studio Owners or Directors I know use drugs when having sex… there is too much hypocrisy in this business, and that’s the issue for me!"
Paul: Is it driven by sales alone or by what your fan base wants and expects from your gay xxx feature films?
Michael: Since day one, back in 1999 I produced bareback movies. The only condom movie I directed was “Desires” for Jet Set International because it was a request from the producers. Jet Set will never do bareback! I do not care about what sells or not; I just shoot what I want to see as a viewer. Watching a condoms movie does not much to me. What drives me is my own taste in porn and I will never produce or direct a movie just because this is what people want to see. By listening to everyone, you loose your originality.
Take 10 different people to comment my movies and you will get 10 different remarks or requests… I do not work that way and I never listen to critics. They can trash me but I won’t read nor blink. I think I was one of the first making movies with “cum eating themes” in the late 90’s. One year later, many studios started to do the same. Producing Bareback Movies with dirty action, having real pigs on the set is what I love and I will stick to it.

Paul: There has been talk about models wanting percentages in their projects? Do you see the industries going down the path of unions? and....do you see artists demanding profit sharing from their projects?
Michael: As I work in Europe now, I don’t think we will see any Union soon. I’m totally open with giving percentages to the models if we can agree on a fair commission. Most of the models are looking for quick bucks and don’t see the business on the long run. It’s a bit sad because it could be a great deal for both, the model and producer. In the meantime, some of the Stars I worked with offered to be part of the project but we could never agree on a fair share. Also I’m not really sure a model will understand when a movie does not sell well. They might feel cheated… Producers take all the risks and I don’t think the models are ready to do the same; this is mostly because they cannot afford to loose.
Paul: You have always released hits in gay xxx entertainment with impressive numbers. How do you rate the competition now as apposed to how it was 8 years ago?

Michael: When I released Twink’s Swallow [2008], most competitors were looking at Eboys like a cheap production company; and they were right! My competitors thought I will be out of business within a year or so. Nobody knows why I sold more than 10’000 units of Twink’s Swallow [2004]worldwide.
Is it the title, the cover, the action, because it was really amateur? I don’t know. I’ve learned a lot during the last years and all I know is that we learn every day.
I started as an amateur director, and I still feel like one; except I have better skills today.
I cannot be compared to George Duroy, Chris Steele or Chi Chi LaRue .
Those are “La Crème de la Crème” to me. Of course, Eboys movies are much better today. I rarely watch movies from my competitors. All I see is that some “Twink Studios” seem to do very well and it makes me very
happy. I’m always pleased to see competitors doing well. Competition is good in business and I show respect to all of them.
There is room for everyone; you just need to find your niche and stick to what you know and love. Since we speak about competition, I would like to take this opportunity to say a little something Paul...One of the biggest problems “in my opinion” is that most Studios don’t get along really well. Except with Raw Entry Club, Clair Production or IKARUS, I do not really have relations with others. We all have a pretty hard time to get along in the Gay Adult Industry… this is mainly because of jealousy, Ego, market deals, bareback issues, models exclusivity etc…
I just wish we could put that on the side; seat together and start making a real team to protect our rights & interests. With all this illegal file sharing, tubes websites, forums giving away our material for free, and very low payoff offered by VOD businesses; a real collaboration between Studios could only benefit to everyone. Let’s say we all join our forces to protect our work, we could at the end see a brighter future for the Gay Adult Industry.
I personally think we are far from seeing this happening. If some are listening, just tell me I’m wrong! It’s about time we fight back, don’t you think? We all know many studios will disappear during the next couple of years because of the bad economy and unprotected rights. I was sad when I saw Dan Komar and few others going down. We should feel miserable because something can be done today, but no one seems to care. When I started in this business, I heard a lot about the Gay Porn Family… This is definitively not my definition of Family… Everyone is playing “ball” in its own backyard when we should all play together in the big “Stadium”.

Paul: What's coming up next for Eboys Entertainment and Michael Paris?
Michael: I will keep producing movies the best way possible. I’m shooting again in November. I have this new concept in mind but I cannot talk about it right now. I’ve thinking about it for more than 2 years. Everyone will be really surprised; that’s all I can say! I’m also looking forward to keep producing for Raw Entry Club. It’s a great studio full of promises. I love to work with Marina Pacific because we have such great complicity. They are honest & awesome people and it’s always a great pleasure to produce for them. I’m also talking with Stephane Moussu from Clair Production in France; we might do something together soon.
Paul: Who's the next superstar for the Eboys Label? Michael: Jose Manuel is definitively our new star. We spent some good time together talking about his future with Eboys. He will be the Star of my next 3 movies. Jose is a stunning and amazing performer. He’s the guy we all dream to work with… shy, charming, loving, breathtaking beauty, easy going and driven by testosterone. We have a great complicity together and it shows on screen.
Paul: Any chance we can get a few of the cast of Seeding Farmers [2008] to sit in with us on JRL in the near future?
Michael: Of course, I can take care of this for you if you join me to my next trip to Prague. LOL
Paul: I checked with the JRL Charts department prior to me sitting down with you and they are stating that Seeding Farmers [2008] is generating 30% more in both rentals and sales this week versus your debut week last week on the JRL Weekly Top 100.
Are you surprised to see how well fans are taking to this feature film?
Michael: Yes I’m surprised! When you spend so much time producing & editing, you loose your objectivity. All I remember is the last day of the shoot when we wrapped the movie. Saint Cyre and I said:” We made a fucking good movie”. LOL …
I had the feeling it was a good production but we never know how the public will react; and I’m very pleased to see the sales today. In this difficult time, having good sales is something really important. That way I can focus in doing my next movies even better without being worried about the budget.

Paul: Any statements or shout outs Michael?
Michael: Well, I’m pleased to announce that Eboys we will be launching its new website www.EboysStudio.com within the next few days. I’m very excited about this. We spent lots of energy and money to make the site more attractive by using the latest technologies like Flash, DRM Rental, Blog etc.
Eboys will also be accessible in a slightly different & light version on mobile phone. Surfers will be able to get free clips, previews, galleries and rent scenes directly from their mobile or Iphone.
We also created a member’s area full of exclusive clips plus tons of galleries & videos. What makes me proud is that for the first time, our members will be able to watch our production life (with sound) from the set. A camera will be broadcasting non-stop & live when Saint Cyre and I are in production. It’s just like you are on the set with us but comfortably seated in front of your computer. Viewers will be able to meet the boys and chat with them. This should be very interesting for everyone wondering how an adult production works. Get ready for some hot stuff my Friends!
