MICHAEL LUCAS CHATS WITH KEITH WITCHKA ON ALLEGED ASSAULT BY ERIC PAUL MARTINEZ

Michael Lucas has issued a press statement to the media regarding the assault upon him at the afterparty held in honor of the GayVN Awards Show this past Saturday night, March 29, 2009 in San Francisco.This is a portion of the press release issued by Michael Lucas;
Lucas has issued the following letter regarding matters that took place this past weekend during and after the GayVN Awards:
"It is shocking how lightly the industry is taking this matter. By falsifying his government-required identification, Brent Corrigan put himself, producers, and the general public at the mercy of federal prosecution.
Because Brent performed while he was underage, all the material that he appeared in during that time is now considered child pornography, and rightfully so.

However, anyone in possession of those titles, who purchased them or viewed them assuming that the producer had taken the necessary precautions to eliminate the risk, now has illegal pornography on their hands. Can you imagine the trauma of having to deal with something like that? And with the internet being what it is, who knows what images of Brent are legal and illegal? This is a disgusting and horrifying question.
To those who are saying that Brent Corrigan didn't know what he was doing, let me tell you that even a 17-year-old knows that forging documents is against the law. A 17-year-old also knows that he cannot take part in adult videos. Erik Menedez was only 17-years old when he and his brother killed their parents-- he is serving life behind bars.
No I am not equating this to murder but a crime is a crime and at 17 you know that. We cannot prosecute in one instance and then turn our heads the next... and then honor the criminal with awards for his work.
To those who are saying that I went on stage because I was jealous of Corrigan's nominations, let me remind you that I’ve been speaking out against celebrating Corrigan for at least three years now. This was before he had received any awards.

I had the opportunity of chatting with Michael regarding this matter late yesterday. Here in his own words is Michael Lucas!
Keith: Michael thank you for granting JRL this opportunity to discuss the incident that occured on Saturday March 28th in San Francisco.

Michael: I thank you in advance for you questions. Unfortunately I have to be short—I am late in the office and leave for Russia early in the morning.Keith: Now take us through the motions. Was this in a direct response to your statement on stage at the GayVN Awards show? or, was this incident started by words exchanged at the after party?
Michael: I would refer you to my statement on my blog. The incident was a direct response to my statement on stage and continued after the show when Corrigan’s boyfriend rammed into me and threatened my life.
Keith: You have stated that the individual in question was arrested for his assault on you.
Michael: The individual’s name is Eric Paul Martinez. When I saw him last at the hotel he was put in handcuffs after police asked me to identify him.
Keith: How did you learn that he was arrested?
Michael: What I know is that I saw him taken away in handcuffs from his room.
Keith: People have stated Michael, that you appear to have a personal vendetta against Brent Corrigan and that every chance you can, you take a shot at him verbally. Is there any validity to these statements made by industry insiders?
Michael: I would refer you to my statement that I have released already.
Keith: Has Brent Corrigan ever worked or has applied for work through Lucas Entertainment when he was a minor?
Michael: No of course not.
Keith: Some people have said, "you know, everyone makes mistakes"...sometimes big ones"...Should Brent Corrigan be band from gay xxx entertainment for life?
Michael: Absolutely, people should be held accountable for their crimes and not dismissed and then awarded.
Keith: Now Michael, you must admit, Brent Corrigan has a huge following. He is winning awards every where. Does that bother you to see the industry rewarding him for his work as an adult?
Michael: It bothers me tremendously that the industry is celebrating a criminal—no matter how sexy he is, it does not erase his past.

Keith: Are you going to press charges and apply for a restraining order against both Brent Corrigan and his new boyfriend?
Michael: Brent Corrigan never threatened me, in fact we have never spoken. Restraining orders will be against his boyfriend Eric.
Keith: Thank you Michael, and as I stated at the beginning of this interview. I am awaiting a response from the Brent Corrigan camp. As soon I get it, I'll bring it to you right here on JRL. Michael Lucas, again thank you for taking the time out to discuss this issue.
Michael: I am glad you are getting both sides but to be fair my word is much heavier than that of a 22-year-old criminal who has illegally forged his way into this business and uses his boyfriends to threaten people who get in his way.
