Jeff: Luciano, welcome to JRL.

Luciano: Hello Jeff, thank you for having me. It´s a pleasure to be with you.

Jeff: Get Lucky, Perfect Pairs 1 and 2....Luciano how do you continue to deliver money making gay porn to gay consumers?

Luciano: It takes a lot of hard work and I receive excellent support from Studio 2000.

Jeff: Tell me how you got into the Gay Porn Industry.

Luciano: Well, I started as a fashion model in my country. One day after watching a Studio2000 movie I read on the screen: “Want to be in our movies?” and I thought about that. I sent pictures to them and one month later Studio2000 flew me to LA. It was amazing!!

Jeff: With the economy finally starting to get a kick in the butt towards the upswing, how do budget your films during these cash crunch times?

Luciano: It can be difficult, but not impossible. If you can budget for many movies at one time, as opposed to only one, you can negotiate better rates for locations and models.

Jeff: Do you recruit your own models or do you use agencies such as Fabscout Entertainment?

Luciano: I recruit my own models. There are many ways to find them, business cards in my pocket, friends of friends, etc.

Jeff: Get Lucky [2009] was a huge success for you and Studio 2000 Video. Holding the No.1 spot in America on the JRL Weekly Top 50 Latin chart for two weeks in a row. Can we expect to see a sequel to this sensational gay xxx film?


Luciano: Lucky San Angelo is one of our FAVORITE models. He is sexy and funny with a great attitude. Plus, he has a huge dick. So, yeah, we might have a sequel in the works.

Jeff: How do you feel about bareback content? Do you feel that you will ever do bareback content in the future?

Luciano: I think producing condom gay porn is the responsible thing to do. As sex worker, porn star and director, I think I owe it to fans and viewers to do the right thing.

Jeff: When you first got into this business, what surprised you the most?

Luciano: When I first got into this business I was surprised by the professional people working with me on set. You know, I used to watch gay movies at home, which is different, but then I was shooting sex scenes with many people behind the cameras: director, cameramen, assistants, make up artist, photographer....at first I was scared, but then all of them helped me to feel confortable and it was really cool! Now as director I have a good chemistry with performers, I think because my experience as porn star : )

Jeff: Tell us about Perfect Pairs 1 and 2? How did you come up with the concept to create this money making series for Studio 2000 Video and Paladin?

Luciano: Studio 2000 told me they wanted to create a new series with hot models paired together, No storyline and little dialogue. Very natural with the models being interviewed about their personal lives. I told them I could do it and we are now in the process of planning our 6th installment of PERFECT PAIRS. The response has been great from our customers.

Jeff: Tons of directors visit retail stores nationwide to see if their films are on the shelf and in the preview booths. Do you do this to see how gay consumers first hand think of your craft?

Luciano: LOLOL! Are you asking me if I spend a lot of time in the private booths of a porno store! Yes, I do visit the stores and I am always happy to see when a new Studio 2000 movie I directed hits the stores. BUT, I am very unhappy when I see pirated DVD’s on the shelves.

Jeff: What's next for Luciano Haas?

Luciano: I have several projects in the works with Studio 2000. As always, JRL is the first to know about any new releases.

Jeff: Let me flip for a bit to VOD....what's your sense on VOD versus Retail outlets? Do you feel that they are both in different market or do you feel that VOD is hurting retail sales?

Luciano: There are millions of customers all over the world. Some prefer to rent or purchase dvds and some prefer to watch movies on their computers. I think it is important to address both of these markets. As long as people are enjoying watching the film, I am happy.

Jeff: Soon gay porn will be available in hotel rooms worldwide just as straight porn is. Will your films adjust to this market by making a more scripted xxx film for the gay porn industry?

Luciano: I am working with Studio 2000 on a more scripted format for a series of films in the future. But, to film a scripted film can be much more expensive to produce. With all of the free porn in the marketplace, it can be difficult to earn a return on your investment.

Jeff: You were born in Buenos Aires in 74'....Is that where Lucas Entertainment hooked up with you?

Luciano: After working with Studio 2000, I sent an email to Lucas Entertainment with my photos and he cast me in LOST.

Jeff: When did you cut a deal with Studio 2000 Video?

Luciano: I first directed for Studio 2000 in 2008.



Jeff: Studio 2000 Video is one of the top studios in the marketplace today. Do you feel the pressure to produce excellent product for them in order to sustain their solid reputation?

Luciano: I love Studio2000 Video. They gave me the first opportunity as a performer and after a great career, 11 movies under my belt and 2005 Best Supporting Actor for X-Factor's Hard Choice Awards, it is amazing to deal with Studio2000 as a director.

Jeff: Will we ever see Luciano in front of the camera as well as behind the camera this fall season?

Luciano: Who knows? if there is a great project....why not?
