Jeff: I cannot tell you enough what a pleasure it is to be granted an interview with the man himself Jake Cruise.
Jake how are you?

Jake: I’m well, thank you for asking.

Jeff: You have won awards with your gay xxx films and yet you still keep a low profile. Is that part of your marketing stategy?

Jake: No, that’s not my marketing strategy, it’s just me. When I’m not pouncing on hot guys I’m really just a home body.

Jeff:Your latest release Jake Cruise Collection 49 which by the way is ranked No. 22 in America on the JRL Weekly Top 50, is a smash hit. Why are gay consumers nationwide going crazy over this project?

Jake: Well, everyone loves cum, I sure know I do. With 55 of the hottest squirts from 5 years of filming, “Cream Shooters” is a natural hit. I think the most amazing cum shot ever in my movies is the one Giovanni squirts while he is the cameraman shooting the Fernando scene. Jake: I’m always concerned about 2257. The law always seems to be in flux and it’s hard to stay on top of it. But we have all of our records in place. And that’s easier for me since I have 8 employees at my studio. The amateur pornagrapher who is just starting out will have a much more difficult time today than when I started 5 years ago.

Jeff: Okay...let's touch on the Straight for Gay Series of yours. Myself and many other gay men enjoy watching a hot stud screwing a hot chick. Was this something you found to be not tapped in the gay xxx marketplace?

Jake: I knew there was a market because so many of my friends admitted watching straight porn, as I did. I didn’t really see much out there of really hot straight men having totally straight sex while the focus was on him and not her. So yes, I don’t think this desire was being met by the gay xxx marketplace and I hope I can fill it in.

Jeff:Your exclusive distributor, the mega AVNS inc Distribution who by the way is a major sponsor of us here on JRL, truly puts a ton of promotion behind the Jake Cruise label. It seems that you both have a great working relationship. Tell us about it and how you first got hooked up with AVNS...

Jake: I was referred to AVNS by my friends at PornTeam.com. AVNS helped me move from a web site only studio to a studio that also produced DVDs. We now have over 65 titles in the Jake Cruise line. I’m very happy that AVNS is also carrying my Straight Guys for Gay Eyes line. I see only good things coming out of our relationship in the future.

Jeff:What's your next blockbuster coming out of the Jake Cruise stable?

Jake: AVNS takes care of all of my releases. I simply produce them and leave it up to the experts at AVNS to decide on when to release them.

Jeff:With studios such as Sneek Peek, Pornteam, The Body Shoppe, the unforgettable Garcia series....do you feel you fall along those lines or do you feel that your genre is in a class of its own?

Jake: Well, I would say that my studio is in a genre all its own. I don’t think you’ll find too many studios making movies with a middle-aged, regular-Joe like myself playing with some of the hottest guys in porn. I’m very lucky.

Jeff: How do you feel about having exclusive models?
Jake: I don’t have exclusive models, at least not intentionally. Dexter happened along after doing a couple of foot fetish sites, and then retired, so he is sort of an exclusive of my site. Michael Von Steel has done most of his porn career for my site, for which I am very grateful. But in general I don’t see much of a business need to sign someone exclusively.

Jeff:Will we be seeing any international films coming out of the Jake Cruise label this year?
Jake: I have two DVD titles of movies I shot in Prague coming out very soon. One is Cruise Collection 50: Jake’s Prague Vacation where I have a lot of fun with Czech hunks. The other is Cruise Collection 52: Personal Czechs where hot European hunks suck and fuck without me.
