Welcome to the Gay Adult Film Industry online publication JRL. I am happy to inform you that I was assigned to do an interview on you and your mega hit ranked No.1 in the United States right now with Brent Corrigan's Big Easy [2009].
Paul: I have the pleasure of bringing you one of the hottest gay porn stars of all time, give it up for Brent Corrigan.
Brent: Thank you for having me Paul. It's a pleasure to be with you today.

Paul: Brent welcome to JRL and I must say, this is your first ever interview on JRL am I right?
Brent: Yes this is my first interview with JRL, so please be easy on me, my friend!
Paul: Let's get into the mix....how does it feel to have the No.1 gay porn film in America on the JRL Weekly Top 100 Gay Rentals and Sales chart?
Brent: Well, it certainly does feel gratifying. Brent Corrigan's Big Easy is only my 4th DVD project and my 5th release, counting Brent Corrigan's Summit the Director's Cut.Paul: One thing you make sure to present in your films is hot passionate foreplay. Instead of just getting right into the action, you do a ton of kissing, licking and pulling. Was that your formula for your films from the start?
Brent: I think if you're approaching sex with a formula you're doomed to bore your fans and viewers. Even if they don't catch on to it now, they will eventually! That aside, I do keep in mind there are key elements to every good scene. One of those major elements is passion.
I feel a large part of my success as a model has been my ability to exhibit a connection between my costars and myself.
When I pair and direct models, I look for the same thing. Showing kissing, body contact and even a little bit of natural dialogue is part of how I do this.
Paul: How long did it take to produce Brent Corrigan's Big Easy? And...how did you pick out the cast?

Brent: We were on set in New Orleans for only one week during Halloween in 2008. We held on to the content and spent an immense amount of time reviewing the raw footage. The editing process was extensive for Steve Jerome but he was on-board 100% and it turned out marvelously - largely due to his personal care and touch.
This is the first time I've been so confident about getting behind something I've produced as both a director and a model. Most of the time my models just come to me. They apply on my website, www.BrentCorriganInc.com. Or sometimes we incorporate some of Dink Flamingo's ActiveDuty.com boys.When I chose this cast, it was very important that everyone complimented each other - not just sexually but certainly physically.
I ALWAYS look for boys who are drawn to this work, not because they want fast cash and need the money, but because they have an interest and enthusiasm for it.
It's only work if you'd rather be doing someone else! With Summit [2008] and now Big Easy [2009] I am developing a reality-based format that relies heavily on model participation. That means on and off set. The boys just have to want to be there or it doesn't fall into place.
Paul: You've released several projects under your Prodigy Pictures label. It's hard to start your own independent gay porn label. What made you get into the headache of running a business?Brent: Quite honestly, the hardest part for me has been dealing with the business set backs. I started my first company at age 19 back in late 2005. An unsubstantiated public feud and civil suit held me and my two business partners back for a year.
When we finally settled and cleared the air, there were forces at work that I didn't see coming - and I spent another year navigating a murder investigation and redeveloping a new online destination.
It turned out my second partner, Lee Bergeron, on the first venture had been working to deceive and steal from me.
I closed that chapter of my life in February 2009 when I sat on the stand in Pennsylvania as a witness in the case. Even though many things and people worked faithfully to weigh me down and hold me back I never stopped moving onward and upward. Today there are still set backs but they aren't boundless.
These days I seem to often come head to head with Grant, my business partner, on the creative decisions and model choices I started my own business because I know the adult industry can be enjoyable - there is no experience comparable to working on an adult set!The problem for me was, I was promised the world and lead down some dark corridors. Eventually, I stood up and took responsibility for my own actions. I also recognized that there are few (if any) static, forthright and steadfast GOOD adult role models in the young and twink adult market.
My genre makes up a substantial portion of the adult industry yet so much of it looks down on us as children. The sad part is, there are always going to be boys like me lining up to be taken advantage; exploited.
But the worst of it is there are just as many lecherous and manipulative old men willing to facilitate. I wanted to counteract some of that. And who am I kidding? At the end of the day, starting my own company was about staying in the adult industry but maintaining control of how I'm put out there. Just because I do adult work does not mean I need to put up with people degrading or disrespecting me.
Paul: How can potential models work for Prodigy Pictures?
Brent: Honestly, I run a tight ship. The boys I want to film need to reflect what has catapulted me to popularity. That doesn't mean I'm looking for carbon copies of myself! I'm a firm believer that if you don't have a big dick, you better be able to take it like the best of 'em. The stars in this industry are more than just beautiful and they are known for more than just a big unit. They put time and effort into themselves. They work out, eat right, keep the partying to a minimal and they get sleep at night! They're masculine, expressive and they can show the world there is more to them than just the physical.

Paul: You're Brent Corrigan's Big Easy [2009] is blowing up in retail stores from coast to coast. Did you expect this much juice from this project from gay consumers?
Brent: Well, I knew it was going to be a hit . . . but I'm a little nervous because my sales right now are making me a little more comfortable than I probably should be. I guess if you're asking, "What recession?!" in a market like this that's a pretty good indicator. All I ask of the consumers is to give me a chance. But most importantly, I want these fans and viewers to give MY BOYS a chance. When people are buying my films just because I directed them, that's when I know I've succeeded what I'm trying to accomplish.
Paul: You first got your start working with Cobra Video. Of course that was bareback action. Since leaving Cobra, you tapped a deal with Dirty Bird Pictures to develop your own label. Are you still going to be delivering bareback genre films?
Brent: I think producing condom gay porn is the responsible thing to do and I think as sex workers, the producers owe it to their fans and viewers to do the right thing. I believe that Cobra Video was instrumental in the development of the domestic bareback twink market and I am embarrassed and ashamed I was a part of it when I was 17 and 18. The only way to have unprotected sex is with your monogamous boyfriend - while getting regular testing before and during the relationship.Paul: What do you have in store for your fan base for the fall season?
Brent: I don't know! I've done a few shoots here and there as I develop content for my Member's Site. No DVD plans right now. I'm about to open a play in Palm Springs called The Masseur.
It's a two man play about dishonesty and the art of seduction. Watch my blog for details. If it does well we'll to a three city tour: Palm Springs, Los Angeles and San Diego after the first of the New Year. This play will not leave southern California so I hope my die-hard fans fly out to see me in it at some point during our run!
Paul: So that means fans will be waiting for a long time for another gay xxx project from you. ...Let me tap this one...Anyone special in your life?
Brent: Yes I have someone in my life I love very much. But for the most part I try my best to keep him out of the limelight. My school of thought on the topic is simply that . . . I share just about everything else about myself for your viewing pleasure, may I please hold SOME things sacred? But you never know, maybe one day I'll be feeling generous and I'll share him as well. But until then, it's at my discretion ;-) Much appreciated!

Paul: Very wise Brent....Will you be doing any Promo Touring to continue the push on Brent Corrigan's Big Easy this summer?
Brent: No, I will not be doing a promo tour this summer. I've considered the idea of returning to New Orleans for Halloween (and my 23rd birthday!) - meshing a new cast with a few of the best from the first. Check my blog regularly because every once and a while I'll get booked to appear in various cities all over. I don't have much time for anything else right now as I develop the new website and I work toward some mainstream projects.Paul: Any shout outs for your fans?
Brent: Sure! Keep an eye out for The Big Gay Musical on the film festival circuit this summer. I've got a scene in that as well as the forthcoming Sister Mary starring Ant, Judy Tenuta and James Valo.
