JRL was conceived by our founder Ralph WilMacheck October 3, 2003 with a weekly newsletter that was distributed to retail store outlets nationwide.
After being a salesman at several distribution centers across the country for a number of years, learning how the business operated from the inside out, Ralph then went into video retail management for 12 years.
In 2006, Ralph managed to attrack another veteran of the Gay adult marketplace Christopher Thais who at the time was Vice President of Marketing for Marina Pacific Distribution.
Thais came on board as President of Programming and within a year took over as President and CEO of JRL Communications Group. With Christopher Thais's knowledge of this business, JRL was taken to another level.
Watching the Gay Adult Film Industry grow the Gay Genre of the Adult Film World wasn't being represented enough in mainstream style as the heterosexual market was.
Different regions will do better with different genres, and fetishes this is clear, but we cannot base those issues on the blood and sweat of producers and distributors who go through serious competitive techniques in order to market and sell their product to retail, mail order and internet markets.
